Unison Living believes that young people have a right to speak freely about how their house is organised, run and how services should be developed over time. We also involve our young people in the recruitment and selection of support workers. In turn, we commit to the following strategies to support young people’s involvement:

• Monthly Young People Meetings;
• Establish a Young People Involvement Policy & Procedures;
• Person Centred Support Planning;
• Regular Reviews;
• Use of Time-Specific Target (Service planning)
• Annual Quality Assurance audits (questionnaires and surveys).

Accessing Education, Employment and Social

All our Young people will have the opportunity to be supported to pursue their education and employment ambitions. We will also support young people to carry out other activities, social or otherwise of their own choice. Naturally we protect the vulnerability of our Young people, as such, Risk Assessments are carried out to ensure that the activities they partake do not create issues for their personal welfare.All our Young people will have the opportunity to be supported to pursue their education and employment ambitions.

Unison Living recognises how important social inclusion and being independent is to our young people. To promote this, we encourage young people to access community activities. 

What We Do - Person Centered Approach

In helping our young people to develop their plans, a series of questions about an individual will guide the process:

• What are their dreams?
• What are their strengths or gifts?
• What are their likes and dislikes?
• What is important to them?
• Who are the important people in their life?
• What support does the person think they need to achieve the future they want?
