UNISON LIVING management is complemented by operations team proving essential day to day support to our young people and a back-office team which provides supporting administrative, accounting and quality assurance functions.
Smart & Safer Recruitment and Selection
We have robust and Smart Safer Recruitment and Selection Policy & Procedures in place. Not only does this policy ensure that we have enough staff cover to run an effective service but guarantees that we have appropriately and suitably qualified staff with relevant experience who are competently matched to roles to ensure that the service we provide is person-centred, safe and responsive to meet the outcomes of our young people.
The policy provides for water-tight screening to ensure that all our staff have enhanced DBS checks, verified qualifications and reliable references before they are deployed to work with vulnerable young people.
Training and Development
Unison Living has a dedicated budget which supports the effective implementation of our Staff Induction, Training and Development Policy.
All our staff go through the induction training before they are deployed to work with young people. This induction gives our staff the following:

Part of the induction will take staff through some key training modules such as:

- Positive Relationships,
- Medication Awareness,
- Infection Control,
- Food Hygiene,
- Fire Safety,

Our training department ensures that all staff have access to complete all these courses and are notified when they need to renew their training which can be anything from 6 months to 2 years depending on the subject.
